SOPHIE BLANC
Sophie, a California native, is an MSTP student with a passion for infectious diseases. She earned her B.A. in Molecular and Cell Biology from UC Berkeley (Go Bears!), where she studied viral toxin pathogenesis in the lab of Dr. Eva Harris. After graduating, she spent a gap year at the University of Washington in Seattle, where she fell in love with the Pacific Northwest—and with rock climbing and hiking. In the Bouhaddou lab, she combines molecular virology and mass spectrometry to study how HIV infected immune cells impact surrounding tissues. Outside of the lab, she can be found hiking along California’s stunning coastline, biking to the local ice cream shop, or spending time with her cat, T’choupi.
